Bayside Church will be collecting items for the From Bayside With Love Wounded Warriors Project for our 4th of July shipment. Bayside will be collecting donations the next couple weekends for this project.
Care Packages to be sent to Wounded Warriors Unit
Wounded Warriors Unit & Landstuhl Hospital
Afghanistan & Germany
This week Support 4 Soldiers will ship special care packages to wounded soldiers in Germany and Afghanistan, thanks to our generous donors. Many are not aware that when our soldiers are wounded and transported to recovery units, they often lose everything they have, including the clothes on their backs. Without family or loved ones there to support them, recovery can be a traumatic experience. After recovery when the soldiers are returned to the field, the military replaces only their issued supplies. Many of their personal belongings are often lost. Support 4 Soldiers supplies the Wounded Warriors Unit with personal items for the soldiers so that they will know we have not forgotten them.
Support 4 Soldiers completes Two Care Package Projects for Christmas, 2011
In October, 2011, Support 4 Soldiers was given an amazing opportunity to offer much needed support to a “Wounded Warriors Unit” in Kandahar, Afghanistan. The medical staff at this large base provides excellent treatment for our wounded soldiers, and they did their best to bring in some Christmas cheer too. But nothing can replace being at home with family and friends during the holidays, especially for our wounded soldiers while they rest and recover from injuries sustained on the battlefield.
Although Support 4 Soldiers had already been committed to sending care packages to more than 200 deployed troops in various locations in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, and even aboard ships at sea, we could not let this call go unanswered. We were determined to bring “a taste of home” to our Wounded Warriors too. So we switched into high gear!
With fantastic support from our local community and beyond, our team was thrilled to be able to send shipments to our deployed soldiers and our wounded warriors…….a total of 424 care packages! We even included Christmas stockings stuffed with goodies from Lighthouse Baptist Church in Brentwood, California, Christmas cookies decorated with love from our baking team, and holiday decorations from many thoughtful donors to help “deck the halls!”
This was the beginning of an extended commitment to our troops at a time when we can give them special attention, get well wishes, and heartfelt prayers for a speedy recovery and safety as they continue to serve our country.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – (November 3, 2011) – The Aerospace Museum of California (AMC) (www.aerospaceca.org) announced today a special tribute on Friday, November 11, in honor of Veterans Day from 9:00am to 5:00pm with a brief ceremony honoring all veterans at 11:00 a.m. The Air Force Sergeant’s Association of Sacramento is hosting the Museum’s Veterans Day event and the program will be held at the AMC’s Memorial Plaza with a tribute to the flag, followed by the National Anthem, a wreath laying, and will conclude with remarks. Special Museum admission of $5.00 per person (children under the age of five are free) will be available all day.
“We want to honor and thank all veterans for serving this great nation,” said Roxanne Yonn, executive director of the Aerospace Museum of California. “We encourage visitors to enjoy a day at the Museum, be inspired and give thanks to the men and women (both past and present) who served and sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy today.”
The community is also invited to donate much needed items to wounded warriors currently stationed in Afghanistan. The AMC has partnered with local non-profit organization, Support 4 Soldiers, and will serve as a drop off point for donations specifically for soldiers that have been injured in battle and are currently recuperating. Soldiers arrive straight from the battlefield and do not have anything with them. For this particular program all donations must be dropped off by November 11th.
Monetary donations will also be accepted and will be used to defray shipping costs and/or purchase additional requested items. Donations are tax deductible; for more information please visit Support4Soldiers.org. In addition, attendees can color pictures, sign cards and flags or just send their thoughts and gratitude to the troops overseas. The organization will also have information on hand regarding its holiday care package program.
Active duty military service members receive free admission to the Museum. To receive free admittance visitors must present a military ID. Admission for the general public is $5.00.

A Day We’ll Never Forget (x 2)
On Tuesday, September 11, 2001, America suffered a huge loss when four coordinated suicide attacks on the United States occurred in New York City and Washington, D.C. “9-11” is a date that we will never forget.
On Sunday, September 11, 2011, the sadness of that memory was brought closer to home. On this sorrowful day, our S4S team gathered together to react to news we had received a few days earlier……..two of our heroes, closely connected to members of our church, were killed in action in Afghanistan. The men in their platoon suffered the terrible loss of their buddies, and our S4S team wanted to express our immeasurable support and deep sorrow directly to each one of them.
Care packages with cards and letters of sympathy and encouragement; spiritual literature; “comfort foods,” and most importantly prayers, were sent to each platoon member that day, with hope that this gesture would help to alleviate the sorrow of their loss.
We will never forget the sacrifices made by these men, and pray daily for God’s protection until they all return home safely.
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!
Happy Independence Day!
On June 20, 2011, Support 4 Soldiers (S4S) sent 150 care packages to our American Heroes with our love and warmest wishes to help them celebrate Independence Day. We are so proud of each and every one of them and truly grateful for their service to our great country as they follow in the footsteps of so many American heroes before them.
Our team and all those who participate in our care package projects with donations, by signing our custom designed greeting cards, and by writing notes on “Don’t Tread On Me” flags hope to remind our servicemen and servicewomen that we’re behind them 100%.
Sending a “little taste of home” is our small way of saying: “America loves you! Thank you so much for the sacrifices you are making to protect us, our country, and our freedom.”

In addition, many other businesses and area families made Christmas a little “brighter” for our soldiers serving overseas. Support 4 Soldiers is a ministry that is dedicated to communicating our appreciation for what our servicemen and women do for our country on a daily basis. One way that we accomplish this is via our care packages, which generally contain items that our soldiers find difficult to acquire overseas. We also provide their “special requests” whenever possible. The feedback we receive is heartwarming, to say the least!
On Monday, November 22, 2010, the community of Folsom gathered together to assemble Christmas Gifts for our troops, who serve our country so bravely. The holidays can be a difficult time for them, and it’s a huge sacrifice to be separated from their families and friends at this joyous time of year. We are also very thankful for their families, whose sacrifices are immeasurable. With the help of so many groups and individuals who came together again this year in a united cause, we can once again say: “mission accomplished”! Thanks to all for your continued support.
For more information about how you can get involved as a volunteer on our team, to make a donation, or to give us a soldier’s name to receive a care package, please contact us at info@support4soldiers.org below. We’d love to hear from you!
God bless you, God bless our troops, and God bless America!
