Do to your generous support we shipped nearly 800 care packs to the troops in 2014. Our goal for 2015 is TWO packing events totaling 1,000 care packs. That is over 10,000 pounds of encouragement and support to the troops serving overseas, valued at over $100,000!
There are many exciting NEW changes for Support 4 Soldiers in 2015. Come and meet Jay Miranda the NEW Director for Support 4 Soldiers, as we plan for our next BIG event. We are excited and blessed for Jay to join our organization. Jay’s email address is jay@Support4Soldiers.org .
Jay is an enthusiastic leader with over ten years of ministry experience. He has served in many different roles including Youth Pastor, Development Director, Sports Coach, Community Liaison Director, as well as a Missionary in Mexico. He and his wife Amanda have a heart to serve they’re local community and to share the love of Christ in a tangible and relational way. Jay is originally from Honduras in Central America but grew up most of his life in San Francisco, CA. He grew up in a poor neighborhood and was raised by his grandmother after the sudden loss of his father at a young age. He began his relationship with Christ at the age of 17 when a Young Life ministry volunteer came to his school and started living life alongside of him and started speaking to him about the love of Jesus.
His life was impacted by relational ministry and his personal experience has been the main driver behind his desire to minister to people in tangible ways. He believes that transformation happens in people through concurrently ministering to they’re physical and spiritual needs. Jay and his wife Amanda join our family after two years of launching and directing Young Life’s youth ministry in Chiapas, the poorest state in Mexico.
Jay has many close friends who are actively serving in the military and has seen firsthand the hardships that our service men and women go through in the midst of the selfless act of serving our country. His desire is to develop community awareness to the needs and struggles of our service men and women as well as ministering to our troops through Support 4 Soldiers care package program. On his time off Jay loves to watch movies and spend time with his wife Amanda and spoil their dog Charlie as well as keeping up with what is happening all over the world.
